Masquerade

"Masquerade" is an intriguing and symbolic work, where the horse is adorned with an almost theatrical mystery, between illusion and reality.
 The animal's intense gaze, enhanced by fiery reflections, seems to tell a buried story, while a bird with black and white plumage adorned with red appears on its forehead, like a living mask. This unexpected presence adds an almost surreal dimension, as if the horse's identity merges with that of the bird, blurring the boundaries between species and symbols.
 The lower part of the painting reveals another enigma: a mirrored scene, rich in gilded details and warm textures, evokes a royal setting or a Baroque mise-en-scène. The presence of the crown suggests a reflection on power, appearance, and the role each person plays in a masquerade that goes beyond simple animal representation.
